Here's a quick one, guys! I needed to fix a thing quickly on my MacBook today that required access to the BIOS interface, which prompted me to share with you the steps to get into your Mac's BIOS. While macOS doesn't use the BIOS term, it has a similar tool called Open Firmware or Extensible Firmware Interface. This short guide is going to show you the steps to access the Extensible Firmware Interface (A.K.A Mac BIOS) and do your technical stuff without hassles.
Caution: This interface should be completely avoided if you aren't sure of what you want to do there. It can cause severe damage to your OS or the MacBook itself.
- Turn off your MacBook.
- Power it on.
- Then hold down Command plus Option keys and letters O and F before the system starts up.
- Hold down the keys until you see the prompt screen.
