Brisbane??s community of entrepreneurs will get to speed date each other at the end of this month and attempt to identify a partnerto help them get their ideas or the next ??big thing?? off the ground at an event to be hosted by the Microsoft Innovation Centre.
The event, which is part of the Brisbane Co-Founders Forum, willbring together Brisbane technology entrepreneurs, and aspiring entrepreneurs, interested in sharing and exchanging their thoughts and experiences, as well as finding co-founders for start-ups.
With only five minutes per ??date??to convince their potential partner of the business idea, theentrepreneurs will be running their eye over each other beforemoving on quickly to the next show and tell.
The event will be held at Brisbane??s Microsoft Innovation Centre on 31 July and according to organiser, Chris Tia, 50 entrepreneurs have already signed up after just one week of the event being announced.
??Typically a technical entrepreneur needs help figuring out the business side ofthings, while a business founderwith a great idea will need sometechnical help to develop it further. We hope to fill in those gaps at the beginning by matching people through a speed dating event format.??
According to Tia, similar events have been held in Sydney, Melbourne and overseas, but this is the ??first time it has been attempted in the growing Brisbane entrepreneurial community.??
??Behind every overnight successstory, is usually a 10 year journey starting with a great idea and people working together to make it happen. Who knows? We might help match up the next Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak,?? Tia says.
